After a packed 2024, Jade Carey is enjoying some downtime before she begins competing in the 2025 NCAA season. Making the most of her time off, the gymnast recently shared a glimpse of her Christmas celebrations with fans.
Carey's year has seen her make her second consecutive appearance at the Olympic Games, returning with a gold medal in the team events, as well as a bronze in the vault. Post that, she confirmed that she would be returning to the Oregon State University team for her senior season.
With the NCAA schedule slated to begin in January, Jade Carey is enjoying some holiday festivities ahead of the upcoming season. Taking to her Instagram story, she shared a snap of cookies resembling a stocking and a Christmas tree, writing,
“Cookie decorating.”
Carey’s 2024 season began back in April, as she competed at the American Classic, where she won gold. She then moved on to the Core Hydration Classic, winning the vault event, before going on to compete at the US National Championships. At the Championships, she took bronze on the vault.
Post this, Carey participated in the US Olympic Trials, winning gold on the vault and silver in the floor exercise. As a result, she qualified for the 2024 Games, where she helped Team USA to gold while winning a bronze on the vault individually.
Jade Carey pens four-word note after her senior season debut for OSU
Jade Carey first signed with the Oregon State University in 2017, but made her debut for the Beavers five years later, in January 2022. Since then, she's been an integral part of the team, winning five NCAA medals.
In 2022, she won silver in the uneven bars and followed it up with a silver in the balance beam the next year. In 2024, the American won a silver in the all-around and floor exercise events at the NCAA championships, as well as a bronze on the balance beam.
Carey recently made her first appearance on the mat for the 2025 NCAA season, competing in OSU’s annual Orange and Black meet on Friday, December 13. After the meet, she shared snaps of herself from the event, writing,
“missed you beaver nation.”
Jade Carey and the OSU Beavers’ competitive NCAA season will begin early next year. The team is scheduled to be in action in Oceanside, California on Saturday, January 4 as they take on hosts California Golden Bears.
