Jade Carey shares three-word reaction to Oregon Beavers' 2025 NCAA season schedule

Jade Carey expressed excitement about the Beavers gymnastics' 2024-25 NCAA schedule shortly after she resumed her college career following the Paris Olympics. Carey won gold as part of the US women's gymnastics team at the 2024 Summer Games and clinched the individual bronze on the vault.

Having started competing for the University of Oregon in the 2021-22 season, Carey earned the Pac-12 gymnast and freshman of the year honor at the season's end. She won the balance uneven bars at the 2022 NCAA Championships and added the balance beam silver in the 2023 edition. Simultaneously competing in elite competitions, Carey made waves at the 2024 NCAA Championships while training for the Paris Olympics. She finished second in the all-around behind Haleigh Bryant, second in the floor exercise, and third in the balance beam.

After her Paris Olympic stint, she resumed her classes with the Beavers for the 2024-25 meet season. In her Instagram stories post posted on January 10, 2025, she shared the official Beavers' 2024-25 schedule.

The 'Gill' in her caption referred to the legendary Gill Coliseum where the Oregon Beavers host the team meets. On January 11, 2025, Jade Carey's college will welcome the BYU Cougars for a match-up in its first home meet of the current season. As per Oregon State Athletics and the Pac-12 Conference, the Beavers will host five home meets.

Carey was part of the US women's gymnastics team that took silver at the Tokyo Olympics. She also clinched the gold medal on the floor exercise.

Jade Carey and Jordan Chiles made history as the only gymnasts to compete at the Olympic Games while balancing their NCAA careers. Carey, who is coached by her father Brian Carey at the Beavers facility, shared how college gymnastics played an integral part in building her confidence for the Olympics.

"I think [NCAA] really made me fall back in love with gymnastics. Tokyo was obviously really awesome for me, but also really hard at the same time. Going to college brought me out of my shell more, gave me a little bit more confidence," the 24-year-old said to Olympics.com.

She added:

"It just made me love gymnastics and realize I had more to give"

With a combined total of ten Olympic and World medals, Jade Carey is tied with Aly Raisman as the fifth most-decorated US gymnast in history.
