Jakob Ingebrigtsen produced a sensational 1500m performance at the Monaco Diamond League. The Norwegian clocked the fastest 1500m since 2015 to win the event as he gears up for the Paris Olympics.
Jakob Ingebrigtsen skipped the entire Indoor season of 2024 as he was recovering from a knee injury. The Norwegian athlete made his season debut at the Prefontaine Classic 2024 where he went head-to-head against arch-rival Josh Kerr. Ingebrigtsen lost to Kerr in the famous " Bowerman Mile" to take the second position in his season opener.
Despite finishing second, Ingebrigtsen was very confident of improving his performances as the season progressed. Weeks before the Paris Olympics, he contested in the 1500m at the Monaco Diamond League and clocked 3:26.73, the fastest time ever recorded in the event since 2015.

Jakob Ingebrigtsen will be returning to the Olympics in a quest to defend his 1500m. Even though he is challenged by one of his biggest rivals,Josh Kerr for the title, the Norwegian athlete excluded great confidence as he heads to the Quadrennial Games.
He spoke to Insidethegames about his mindset as he is headed to the prestigious event.
"I never go into a race thinking about the things that I've done before. Winning is something that I'm always going to chase. It's always a great feeling crossing the finish first, especially in a tight race with great competitors," he said.
