Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, the 100m hurdler from Puerto Rico, celebrated her birthday on August 21 and got proposed for marriage by her boyfriend and triple jumper, Donald Scott. Camacho-Quinn and Scott competed at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where the former medaled in the 100m hurdles.
Camacho-Quinn set her personal best and Olympic record by clocking 12.26s in the 100m hurdles semifinals at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. She won her maiden Olympic gold in the Tokyo finals, becoming the second Puerto Rican representative and the first Puerto Rican of Afro-Latino descent to win a gold at the Olympic level.
Camacho-Quinn graced the track in Paris as the 100m hurdles defending champion. She lined up with the American favorite Masai Russell and finished with bronze in 12.36s behind her. After the successful completion of her Paris Olympics campaign, the 28-year-old celebrated her birthday on August 21 and got the surprise of her life.
Taking to her Instagram handle, Jasmine Camacho-Quinn posted a picture of her hand with an engagement ring and "Will You Marry Me?" written in the background. Donning a red dress, she got the proposal for marriage from US triple jumper, Donald Scott, who she has been dating for a while.
"8.21.96; 28," Jasmine Camacho-Quinn said.
In one of her Instagram stories, Camacho-Quinn posted Scott going down on his knees and proposing with the ring. A big heart made of several white balloons and two red hearts were symmetrically placed in the background.
During their trip to Paris, the couple visited the Love Lock Bridge, which looks over the Eiffel Tower. They wrote their names in a lock and threw the key into the Seine River.

Jasmine Camacho-Quinn made her world debut at the 2022 World Athletics Championships, where she earned the 100m hurdles bronze. Fresh off her Olympic gold medal win in Tokyo, she entered the world stage only to have fun and not stress about her races, as she told Olympics.com.
"I think sometimes we forget to have fun with what we are doing and we stress ourselves out trying to be perfect when things don’t go how we envisioned them," Camacho-Quinn said.
Camacho-Quinn's fiance, Donald Scott, won the bronze in the triple jump at the 2022 World Indoor Championships in Belgrade, Serbia. He played as a football wide receiver at Apopka High School in Apopka, Florida.
