Days after qualifying for the 100m event for Paris 2024, Noah Lyles has again garnered a lot of attention from his fans by qualifying for the 200m semi-finals in the US Olympic trials. The heats were held on Day 5 of the event at Hayward Field, Eugene.
On Day 3 of the trials, Lyles secured a spot in the 100m event at the Paris Olympics 2024 by defeating some of his arch-rivals, Fred Kerley and Christian Coleman. The world champion clocked 9.83s, and the Tokyo Olympics 200m silver medalist, Kenny Bednarek, claimed the second position, recording 9.87s. Coleman recorded 9.92s and missed out on the podium.
Lyles is poised to add another event to his Paris Olympics schedule and has advanced to the 200m semi-finals. He clocked a blistering speed of 20.10s and was followed by Erriyon Knighton, who clocked a time of 20.15s. Bednarek and Coleman also qualified for the semi-finals.
The 26-year-old shared the video of his 200m heats performance on his Instagram handle, where he left all his competitors behind and attained a smooth victory.

Noah Lyles weighs in on his 200m Round 1 win at the US Olympic trials
Noah Lyles reflected on his 200m heats victory on day 5 of the US Olympic Trials in a post-race interview with NBC. He said that the race "felt really smooth", and he focused on the first 120 meters. Along with this, he also revealed what he did in the last few days to get ready for the 200m.
"It felt really smooth, really loose," said Noah Lyles. "It's really hard to come back to the 200m and have that explosive aggression in the first round. But we mapped out how I wanted the race to go. It was the first 120 metres." (Via Olympics.com)
He added:
"The last few days I've been getting massages, getting stretched out, trying to get that elasticity back in my body. Now that the 200m is here, it was about getting that explosiveness back."
Along with this, Noah Lyles also showcased his excitement, saying that he is now ready to compete in Paris.
"I'm ready now for the biggest stage. . I'm open to hearing the roar of the crowd; hopefully I won't even be able to hear my thoughts. It gives me nothing but excitement, to know that that is the biggest stage."
Noah Lyles, along with Kenny Bednarek, Christian Coleman, Erriyon Knighton, and a few others, will compete in the 200m semi-finals, which is slated for June 28 at Hayward Field, Eugene.
