Simone Biles spoke about competing alongside her husband, NFL player Jonathan Owens at the upcoming Los Angeles Olympics in 2028. The American gymnast expressed how her husband is excited as flag football, a variant of American football, is expected to be a part of the upcoming quadrennial games slated to be held on their home soil.
Biles made her third consecutive quadrennial games appearance in Paris and won three gold medals and one silver medal. Soon after the Paris Olympics, the American gymnast geared up for the release of her documentary series featuring her pursuits leading up to the Olympics in the French Capital.
During the premiere of her documentary series, she spoke about various topics, ranging from her next Olympic appearance to her take on fellow teammate Jordan Chiles' bronze medal appeal. Speaking about the possibility of her fourth consecutive Olympic appearance, Biles expressed how her husband and his teammates are excited about the potential inclusion of flag football in the LA Olympics.
"I think it'd be very interesting. I think it'd be a lot of fun. I know that my husband and his teammates have talked a lot about it if they're going to do it. But it's a lot of sacrifice. It's in the summer, right when they start training camp, so I know it'd be really tough on their body just because of how long their season is. But they're very excited about it, and they're enticed. So we'll see."
Simone Biles on her husband facing criticism on social media
Simone Biles spoke about her husband receiving hate on social media while appearing on the 'Call Her Daddy Podcast'. The star gymnast revealed how it has had a profound impact on her husband and said:
"I go on Twitter, and everybody’s like, divorce this man, he’s mean. I’m like, he’s the sweetest. He praises the ground that I walk on. Truly, I’ve never met a man like him. He never said I wasn’t a catch. He said he was a catch because he is,” she explained. “I’ve never met a man like him. A lot of people that meet him are like, ‘Oh my gosh, I want a man like that."
Even though the couple tried to let go of the hate at first, Biles expressed how she broke down later after all the emotions had piled up.
