Olympic champion gymnast Jordan Chiles recently reacted to her former coach Cecile Landi's new Instagram post. The 23-year-old gymnast was a part of some of the best moments for coach Landi, which she uploaded on Instagram.
Landi uploaded a collage of photos, including those from the Paris Olympics. She captioned the post:
"Replay the memories that you shared. As long as you have them, they cannot be replaced. #top9of2024instagram"
Chiles was also featured in the collage, which included her victory in the team all-around as well as the floor exercise event [though the bronze medal was revoked in the latter]. She couldn't help but share the post on her Instagram story with heart-shaped reactions all over it.
Chiles joined the World Champions Centre in 2019, where Landi coached Simone Biles and other gymnasts since 2017. She contributed to the silver medal-winning performance of Team USA at the Tokyo Olympics, where the women's artistic gymnastics team won the silver medal in the team all-around event.
Chiles improved her performance at the Paris Olympics as Team USA won the gold medal in the all-around event. Though she qualified for multiple finals, she participated in the floor exercise event, where she ultimately ended up in the fifth position.
Jordan Chiles on Cecile Landi bidding farewell to WCC
Cecile Landi had been mentoring Jordan Chiles, Simone Biles, and several other gymnasts at the World Champions Centre in Spring, Texas, which was owned by Biles' adoptive parents, Ron and Nellie Biles. However, after the Paris Olympics, the former French gymnast took leave and accepted the offer of a head coach at the University of Georgia.
Chiles' mother Gina Chiles quoted her daughter as she commented on Landi's Instagram post about her retirement from WCC. She wrote:
"'The dopest people I know' - Jordan Chiles. I couldn't agree more. Thank you for everything!"
Landi wrote an emotional note on Instagram:
"Thank you to the entire WCC family for your endless support and love I’ve felt these past 7 years . Thank you to all of my athletes and their families for your trust and commitment to our program! I can’t wait to see what the future holds for y’all ❤️ Forever WCC PROUD 😘"
Chiles is currently preparing for her return to the NCAA collegiate season in 2025. She is also awaiting the release of her autobiography 'I'm That Girl' in early 2025.
