Jordan Chiles has returned to UCLA for another round of collegiate gymnastics, and she recently performed for the team for the first time since her return. Cheering her on as she made her comeback to the collegiate circuit was none other than ‘Baby Biles,' Simone Biles’ niece.
Baby Biles, a.k.a. Ronni, is the daughter of Simone Biles' brother Ron Biles, and his wife Sammi. The toddler has found fame on the internet as her mother shares glimpses of her cheering for Biles and her fellow Team USA gymnasts while often dressing up in adorable leotards.
Recently, Sammi shared a video of Baby Biles cheering for Chiles' UCLA performance on her Instagram story, writing,
‘Girl still loves watching gymnastics and knows who Auntie Jordan Chiles is.’
In the video, the toddler can be seen dancing along to the gymnast's routine. Reacting to this, the 23-year-old reposted the story and captioned it with five red hearts.
For Jordan Chiles, 2024 has been a hectic season. She began her year at the Core Hydration Classic, where she took bronze in the all-around, before going on to win silver on the uneven bars at the Nation Championships. The gymnast then moved on to the US Olympic Trials, where she won silver on the vault and finished third in the all-around, uneven bars, and floor exercise events.
At the Paris Olympics, Chiles helped the USA win gold in the team event. She then went on to win a bronze in the floor after an appeal in her score, but the medal was reallocated to Romania's Ana Barbosu post the Games. The American has filed an appeal in the Federal Supreme Court of Switzerland for her medal.
Jordan Chiles’ return to UCLA
Jordan Chiles first joined the UCLA gymnastics team in December 2021 and made her NCAA debut a month later, in January 2022. Already an Olympic medalist by then, the gymnast quickly established herself as one to watch out for, scoring multiple perfect 10s as a freshman. As a result, she was named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week twice.
In 2023, Chiles further improved on her collegiate performances, winning the NCAA individual championships on the uneven bars and floor exercise while clinching silver in the all-around.
After a break to focus on the Olympics, Jordan Chiles has now rejoined the UCLA Bruins. On Saturday, December 14, she performed for the team during their annual ‘Meet the Bruins’ showcase.
