Two-time Olympic medal-winning US gymnast Jordan Chiles received a special gift hamper from the popular American media personality Kim Kardashian. In return, Chiles expressed her gratitude to the entrepreneur for the thoughtful gesture.
Following her Paris Olympics campaign, Chiles joined her teammate Simone Biles-led Gold Over America Tour, a one-of-a-kind gymnastics event designed to inspire the next generation of gymnasts. Starting in Oceanside, California in September, the tour visited 30 cities across the United States before concluding on November 3 in Detroit, Michigan.
Having wrapped up her season, Chiles is currently relishing her downtime away from the mats. To make her break even more special, Kardashian gifted her the Beats x Kim edition of the Beats Studio Pro headphones. Beats x Kim is a joint venture between the two where Beats has customized its headphones and Beats Pill speakers to launch a new range. On her Instagram story, Chiles thanked Kardashian for the gesture and wrote:
"Thank you @beatsbydre x @kimkardashian"
The 21-year-old participated in her second Olympic Games in Paris and claimed her second career medal there. She helped the United States win its first all-around gold medal in eight years.
Jordan Chiles reflects on inspiring her fans by presenting her 'authentic' self
During an event celebrating her collaboration with Vaseline, Jordan Chiles stated that her goal is to send a message to her fans by setting an example of authenticity and remaining true to herself. She said (via Ebony Megazine's Instagram post):
"Showing up for my best self is really the people that are under and above me, you know? I feel like some people, when it comes to asking me that they're like oh the younger generation, it's like no, there's people above me that do look up to me and I think just being authentic to who I am."
She added:
"It's also my 'why,' like 'why do I do my sport?' or ' why do I, you know, become great partners with Vaseline?' or 'why do I, you know, do the things that I do, it's because of just me being the person I am."
Chiles also won the first individual medal of her career in Paris by placing third in the floor exercise event. Initially finishing fifth, her difficulty score was updated following an appeal from her coach Cecile Landi, moving her up to third place and awarding her the bronze.
However, she was subsequently stripped of the medal after an appeal to the Court of Arbitration from the Romanian Gymnastics Federation, which argued that Landi's appeal had been submitted past the permitted time limit. As a result, the medal was reallocated to Romania's Ana Bărbosu.
