US gymnast Jordan Chiles shared the transition from being a presenter at MTV's Video Music Awards to a gymnast on the Gold Over America tour. The Olympic gold medalist also recently touched down in New York for the 2024 US Open and her debut appearance at the New York Fashion Week.
Since forfeiting her Olympic bronze medal, Jordan Chiles has been making plenty of public appearances. She was present for the New York Mets' MLB game against Cincinnati Reds to throw out the first ceremonial pitch. The 23-year-old also attended the US Open, witnessing Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka and US player Jessica Pegula battle it out in the final.
Chiles debuted at the New York Fashion Week, having walked the runway at the LaQuan Smith SS25 Runway Show (Brooklyn) in a stunning black dress and at the Kim Shui show in a beautiful silver dress. The California native then took MTV's stage as a presenter at the 2024 Video Music Awards and soon transitioned to her gymnastic form for the Gold Over America tour.
She posted a boomerang at the gym in her Instagram story, captioning:
"From VMA stage Too Tour."
Jordan Chiles presented the Best Collaboration award at the VMA, sharing the stage with American rapper and feminist icon, Flavor Flav. The latter, who previously promised to craft a signature bronze stopwatch to replace Chiles' lost medal, honored the Olympian in person on the MTV stage.
"I just want to turn this into a little Olympic moment for a second if ya’ll don’t mind. Ay yo Jordan, I know they tried to take your medal away from you, but you know what? I got you something that they can’t take away from you," Flav said before placing the stopwatch around her neck.
As the fans erupted in applause, Jordan Chiles was left in shock and couldn't find the right words of expression.
"Wow, I don’t even know what to say here. Thank you so much."
Jordan Chiles received a note of appreciation from her mother Gina Chiles after her VMA appearance
Jordan Chiles not only received an honor from Flavor Flav but also presented the Best Collaboration award to Taylor Swift and Post Malone for 'Fortnight'. Gina Chiles, the Olympian's mother, couldn't get enough of her daughter's smile and glow on the stage, days after her Olympic upset.
She took to X and wrote:
"My baby @ChilesJordan is living it up at the @vmas! You did so good presenting with @FlavorFlav and the bronze clock. Now you are dancing with @taylorswift13 and looking gorgeous!! That smile says it all! So soooo so happy for you."
The three-time World medalist will join her WCC mate Simone Biles on the Gold Over America tour, set to begin on September 16 in Oceanside, California.
