Joscelyn Roberson recently received the honor of shooting the first shot for the Houston Rockets during an NBA clash. Born on February 8, 2006, in Texarkana, Texas, previously training at North East Texas Elite Gymnastics, Roberson moved to Houston in 2022 after her mom, Ashley, secured a new job in the City.
After injuring her ankle during the warmup on vault at the 2023 World Championships in Budapest, the American made her return to the sport at the 2024 American Classic, pacing her way till the Olympic Trials. At the Trials, she settled in sixth place in the all-around, fourth on vault, tenth on uneven bars, first on balance beam, and fourth on floor, earning her spot as an alternate for Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Following her family's move to Houston, the teenager began alongside the legendary gymnast Simone Biles and under coaches Cecile and Laurent Landi at World Champions Centre (WCC). After enjoying a remarkable year, including her performances at the American Classic, Core Hydration Classic, National Championships, and Trials, Roberson was invited to the Houston Rockets' recent game to celebrate her accomplishments.
Sharing the pictures from the evening, she wrote:

Joscelyn Roberson traveled to Paris as an alternate for Team USA at the 2024 Summer Olympics. Although she did not compete in any events, she cheered for her teammates from the stands. Following this, she joined her teammates Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles for the 2024 Gold Over America Tour through the nation.
Ahead of the 2025 year, she conveyed her excitement for the upcoming season, which will feature her competing at the collegiate circuit. She signed with the Arkansas Razorbacks in 2023. Sharing a glimpse from the French capital she wrote:
"WOW, I’ve been dreaming of 2024 since I was little and it did not disappoint!!! Ready for the next, here I come 2025👀"
Roberson will become the first-ever national team member and world champion to compete for the Razorbacks, with their season commencing on Saturday, January 11, 2025.
