Julien Alfred was recently seen sharing an adorable moment with a young boy as she played his guitar for him by the roadside. Alfred won her gold medal at the 2024 Summer Games in Paris.
The Saint Lucian sprinter, had a stellar 2024 season, starting with a 60m win at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Glasgow. After finishing second in the 100m at the Prefontaine Classic, she reached the 100m stadium record mark at the Racers Grand Prix. She then soared to the 100m victory at the Monaco Diamond League and ran in a national record time in London.
Leaving the reigning 100m world champion Sha'Carri Richardson in second, Julien Alfred took the 100m win at the 2024 Olympics, the first Olympic medal for Saint Lucia. She ended her season with the 100m title win in the Diamond League final stop.
Months later, Alfred was spotted on the street, sharing an adorable moment with a little boy, as posted on the Olympian's Instagram story. The caption in the original story that she reshared, read:
"We met the cutest little boy last Friday. He asked @julien.alfred to play his guitar."
On December 11, 2024, the 23-year-old rang in the holiday season with a charity event at her primary school, organized by her eponymous Julien Alfred Foundation. Though she was not present in person, she addressed the young children through a video call.
"First event for JAF. No better place to start than at my primary school," her Instagram story caption read.
Alfred competed at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, winning silver in the 100m dash.

As the first Saint Lucian Olympic champion, Alfred received a hero's welcome from her nation in September. All her country people gathered to honor her, school children waving flags, and musicians performing. The four-day-long celebration ended at the Daren Sammy Cricket Grounds with her receiving the 2024 Tourism Gimie Award and being appointed as the Tourism Ambassador of Saint Lucia.
She penned a heartfelt note to the authorities for honoring her and expressed love for her nation.
"September 26th was truly a special day for me. I’ve always taken much pride in representing my country both on or off the track, but being officially announced as a Tourism Ambassador and being the Tourism Gimie Awardee for 2024, brings me an unwavering amount of joy. A huge thank you to the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority for allowing this young girl from Ciceron, with a dream to receive such prestigious titles. No matter where I may roam, I will forever LOVE my island home and represent as a proud Saint Lucian," she wrote on Instagram.
The three-time NCAA Division I champion was the first woman in collegiate history to go under the seven-second barrier in the 60m.
