2024 Paris Olympics gold medalist Gabby Thomas recently opened up about the importance of resting and making sacrifices for the growth and development of track and field athletes. This comes just a month after her successful campaign at the 2024 Summer Games where she clinched three gold medals and ended the event as the only American track athlete to achieve this feat.

Following the impressive campaign, Thomas will return to the track at the Athlos Track meet scheduled to be held on September 26 at the Icahn Stadium. Owing to this, the 27-year-old was at the University of Nevada Las Vegas for her final preparations ahead of the event.

It was during this time at the university that Gabby Thomas shared some key insights with young students of the university. She elaborated on the importance of managing the workload and making sacrifices to one's social life for the development of a track and field athlete.

During her conversation, Thomas also advised the students to enjoy themselves in the process of achieving their goals. She said:

"What you want to make time for and prioritize you have to. So prioritizing sleeping, resting, and sometimes you just say no to these kinds of things when your friends want to hang out. And I know it's kind of s**** sometimes but it's all worth it in the end."

She added:

"And I think the biggest thing I would say is just make sure you enjoy what you are doing. It's never too late to pivot, I just had to pivot from some things I initially thought I was going to do and then had to change my mind."

Gabby Thomas recently reacted to Hunter Woodhall's impressive performance at the 2024 Paris Paralympics. The 25-year-old para-athlete clinched the gold medal in the Men's 400m T62 division with a run time of 46.36 seconds.

After this victory, an emotional scene was witnessed at the Stade de France as Woodhall celebrated his victory with his wife and Olympic long jump champion, Tara Davis-Woodhall.

Thomas reacted to this heartwarming moment and wrote a sweet message for the couple via her official X handle:

"STOP THIS IS EVERYTHINGGGG 🥹 LOVE YALL"

This 400m T62 victory of Woodhall came after his disappointing performance in the 100m T64 event where he finished sixth.
