American competitive swimmer Katie Ledecky recently made it to the USA team for the 2024 Paris Olympics in the women’s 200m freestyle after winning the event at the 2024 U.S. Swimming Olympic Team Trials.
In the 200m freestyle, she came first with a time of 1:55.22 in the finals, ahead of Claire Weinstein (1:56.18) and Paige Madden (1:56.36). With this victory, Ledecky has also now qualified to compete in the 4x200m freestyle event at the Paris Olympics.

Katie Ledecky qualified for her 2024 Paris Olympics after winning the women’s 400m freestyle at the 2024 U.S. Swimming Olympic Team Trials. Competing in her first finals at the trials, the American athlete displayed a dominant show in the 400m freestyle, recording a sensational 3:58.35, finishing much ahead of second-placed Paige Madden (4:02.08).
Having represented the United States in the 2012 London Olympics where she clinched a gold in the women’s 800m freestyle as a 15-year-old, Ledecky will now be heading to her fourth Olympic Games.
At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Ledecky collected the silver medal in the 400m freestyle, clocking a time of 3:57.36, only behind Ariarne Titmus, who clocked a record 3:56.69 to win the event.
