With the Paris Olympics roughly more than a month away, the Kenyan athletics teams are all set to light up the stage. The Kenyan track and field trials were recently concluded at the Nyayo National Stadium after which 35 athletes have cemented their place in the national team that would represent Kenya in Paris.

The first name to be mentioned among the 35 athletes is none other than the 2022 Commonwealth Games gold medalist (100m event Men's), Ferdinand Omanyala. The Kitale-born athlete produced a staggering perfromance during the trials as he registered a season-best run time of 9.79s and booked a place for the second Olympics of his career.

The 19-year-old Emmanuel Wanyonyi will lead the charge for Kenya in the Men's 800m of the Paris Olympics after a historic perfromance at the trials during which he became the third fastest in the discipline.

Two-time World Championships medalist, Beatrice Chebet, will also feature in the Kenyan athletics team in the Women's 5000m event of the Paris Olympics 2024. Other athletes to keep an eye on from the Kenyan athletics team are Mary Moraa, Nelly Chipchirchir, Peris Jepchirhir, among others.
