Following this, the American started the preparation of her 2024 edition of the Gold Over America Tour, which started on September 16 at Oceanside and has now reached its 11th stop at Pittsburgh, with a show scheduled for on October 2, 2024. This event was launched by Biles to celebrate the women Olympians after the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. This year, several male America gymnasts are also part of the tour.
The 27-year-old recently appeared in an online interview with NESN, where she spoke to Geroge Balekhi about her intention of inspiring the next generation. She opened up about how the fan interactions with the tour were important while also talking about having fun at the tour and inspiring the "next generation."
"It's big that it puts gymnastics on a stage like we've never seen before it's gymnastics meets a concert but as you pointed out the fan interaction is so important as well yes 100% because they've supported us on our careers for so long," said Simone Biles. "So, it's such a blessing that we're able to put on a show like this to give back even if it's just a little bit of inspiration and waving to them and um just so that again they feel seen and heard." (2:14 onwards..)
"But, it really is so exciting because whenever we're at the Olympics, we're really really stressed we have a job to do but here it's all fun that's all we're here to do is to have fun, inspire the Next Generation, tell our stories and hopefully leave everyone with a piece of gold," she added.
Simone Biles opened up about why the Gold Over America Tour is important for her
In a recent interview with the Olympics.com, Simone Biles revealed the reason why the Gold Over America Tour is important for her. Keeping mental health in consideration, she said that she wanted to spread the idea of "it's okay to not be okay" and wanted to have fun, celebrate the success, and take care of themselves.
"Obviously, we wanted to share that story of 'it's okay to not be okay, but this one is the outcome of putting in that work, taking care of yourself, and where it gets you," said Simone Biles.
She added:
"It's just what happens after you take care of yourself and the success that brings, and so I think that's the exciting part about the story and what the show brings."
After attaining success at the Paris Olympics, Simone Biles' medal tally at the sporting event rose to 11.
