Noah Lyles silenced rematch questions with IshowSpeed in his recent appearance at the Las Vegas GP. The American athlete competed in a 50m race against the popular streamer IShowSpeed after being challenged by Mr Beast.
The race between the two raised great anticipation among fans on social media who were eager to witness the streamer's athletic prowess against the Olympic Champion. They were initially set to compete in a 100m race however, after being insisted by IShowSpeed the race was cut down to a 50m with $100,000 on the line for the winner.
IShowSpeed had a great start and was almost along the same line as Noah Lyles during the initial moments of the race however, the Olympic gold medalist won the race taking home $100,000 that he donated to his foundation for a good cause. Soon after the race, IShowSpeed claimed that the contest was a 'tie' before accepting his defeat. However, IShowSpeed called for a rematch as he believed that he would be able to outdo the Olympic Champion.
Noah Lyles spoke about a rematch with the streamer in an appearance at the Las Vegas Grand Prix and revealed that he had only given 20% of his performance.
" 20 per cent. He was giving full effort so you know, kudos for him. I don't of a rematch, I moving on to bigger and better things. You know, let's find somebody faster," he said.
Noah Lyles on getting challenged to a race by other athletes
Noah Lyles spoke about being challenged to a race by athletes of different sports after the Paris Olympics. The American athlete revealed that he was open to competing in a race however, he revealed that it won't be a race for the title of the 'fastest man' in the world.
Moreover, he expressed that people are using it as an excuse to win the title that he received after putting in multiple years of hard work. Lyles spoke receiving challenges in his appearance in ESPN's popular show 'Sports Center' and said:
"But in terms of, you know, running a race, you know, look, man, you got to be serious. Everybody wants to jump up to the top right. Everybody wants to jump into the everybody wants to race the fastest man. I didn't grab this title, title because it's easy or because I went the easy route."
One such challenge is reportedly set to take place next year with Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill going head-to-head against Noah Lyles in a race.
