Lindsey Vonn was hooked on watching World No. 1 Jannik Sinner play tennis, while she recovered from her workout. Vonn and Sinner have been friends for a long for their shared passion for tennis and alpine skiing.

Lindsey Vonn, the former alpine skier with 82 World Cup wins in her repertoire, is an ardent tennis fan. She has long been friends with Roger Federer, whom she admires for his athleticism and philanthropic outlook. Recently, she shared on Instagram that her fondest memory of Federer was of the 2009 Wimbledon Championships, where he defeated Andy Roddick in the final.

Vonn extended her list of tennis companions by befriending Jannik Sinner, who recently bagged the 2024 Australian Open title, his first Grand Slam victory. On his stellar achievement, Lindsey Vonn felicitated him with the 'best skier to win a grand slam' honor. (via Instagram)

Soon after, as Sinner played in the third round of Wimbledon against Miomir Kecmanović, Vonn enjoyed the match while recovering from her workout session. In her Instagram story, she posted a picture of her bound leg and the screen in front playing Sinner's match.

"Post workout recovery watching @janniksin," her caption read.

Sinner triumphed in the third round against Kecmanović and advanced to the fourth towards his second Grand Slam victory.

Lindsey Vonn previoisly said that Sinner's way of handling pressure came from skiing.

"He's a pretty shy guy, but he's really humble and always super kind. I think he has just a great perspective on the sport and I think to a degree, some of that comes from skiing. We've talked about it quite a few times," she said. (via ATP Tour)

Vonn also referenced Federer and said that Sinner and the Swiss handled pressure the same way.

"It's the kind of fearlessness that he puts everything out there no matter what the situation." (via ATP Tour)

Vonn opened up about the major difference between skiing and tennis being the risk factor. In skiing, one turn can result in a crash and the athlete can hurt themselves. Whereas, in tennis, mistakes can be resolved as the match progresses.

So, she appreciated Jannik Sinner for choosing tennis over skiing and saving himself from the dangers.

“If you make one mistake, you're in the fences, which is something that I really loved... But it is a very dangerous sport, and it has cost me. I've had over 10 surgeries now and so I always told Jannik, ‘You chose the right sport, you're in a much safer sport’, said Vonn. (via ATP Tour)

Both Sinner and Vonn have skied together a couple of times. The latter first thought he would be hurt but was mesmerized by seeing him ski like a pro.
