“It's really the same team that helped me win so many times before my coaches and my friends and I had a lot of support and I think everyone wanted, was fully behind me but we were all taking it step by step. We didn't want to get too far ahead of ourselves but I think sometimes they believed in me more than I believed in myself. And I think we knew as long as my knee was cooperating that you know mentally and physically I would be back. After I retired I took a lot of time for myself to figure out who I am without skiing and what I want and I think it was a good journey to be on.” [onwards 1:37]

She continued,

“I wrote my book and I think that helped me a lot as well, just kind of go through my life because I never had a chance to really go back and reflect. So I took the time for me, I'm so much stronger since retiring, than I was ever before and so coming back is not hard. I'm actually like I said I'm mentally stronger I'm physically stronger. The last few years of my career were very challenging. You know I was always injured. I was always playing catchup. I was always behind and I still had pretty good success so I think now that I'm so much stronger I think that is a positive sign.”

During her prominent career, Lindsey Vonn participated in eight World Championships and clinched two gold medals, three silver medals, and three bronze medals. Vonn was the first American woman skier to grab the gold medal in the downhill Winter Olympics in 2010.

The decorated champion has a long list of achievements and as per the Olympics, Lindsey Vonn looks forward to participating in the next Winter Olympic Games. She was able to grab the sixth position in St. Anton. In Super-G, she finished in fourth position.
