The 2024 Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony was a veritable whos-who of the sporting world. The event featured a star-studded lineup including Lindsey Vonn, Michael Johnson, Shawn White, Nina Dobrev, and Serena Williams, among others. the Opening Ceremony took place along the River Seine on July 26, 2024.
At the Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony, athletes arrived by boat, floating down the Seine River during the Parade of Nations. The event was also highlighted by stunning performances from top artists such as Celine Dion, Lady Gaga, and others.
The retired alpine skier Lindsey Vonn wore a Thom Browne navy suit to the red carpet of the opening ceremony. Meanwhile, the four-time Olympic gold medalist Michael Johnson donned a dark gray blazer over a bright pink shirt.
The American former snowboarder and skateboarder Shaun White came with his girlfriend, famous actress Nina Dobrev, to attend the Olympic ceremony of the Paris Olympics. White wore a Team USA jacket with a white polo shirt and jeans, while Dobrev opted for a black biker jacket, a white t-shirt, and a denim skirt.
Team USA shared the pictures of the star-studded lineup of celebrities and former athletes on their Instagram.
Additionally, Serena Williams, widely considered one of the greatest tennis players of all time, graced the event wearing a stunning red dress. Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo attended the event dressing up as the characters they will be playing in the movie Wicked, set to be released on November 22, 2024.
Besides these stars, other top names who were present at the Ceremony were former football quarterback Peyton Manning, retired track and field athlete Carl Lewis, and singer Kelly Clarkson, among others.
Lindsey Vonn carried the Olympic flame before the Paris Olympics
Lindsey Vonn was one of the torch-bearers of the Olympic torch on the final day ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony. She shared this experience with her followers on Instagram, adding:
“I’ve always wanted to hold the Olympic flame… and today I became a torch bearer for the first time with many of my fellow Olympians. The flame is so much more than fire. It’s a symbol of hope, which we desperately need right now. Faster, Higher, Stronger, TOGETHER!!”
The final day of the torch relay also witnessed Sergey Bubka, Snoop Dogg, Chris Hoy, and Laetitia Casta serving as the torchbearers.
