Lindsey Vonn made her first professional skiing appearance for the first time in nearly six years at the FIS Fall Festival at Copper Mountain, Colorado in the Super G. The American athlete revealed that even though she is not completely in her peak form, she will be using this appearance as an experience as well as gain points to be able to compete in World Cup races later this season.
The American Alpine skier took the skiing world by surprise when she announced that she would be making a professional comeback in the circuit after there were multiple speculations about her returning to the slopes as she was spotted training in New Zealand. After beginning her training in October, she targeted to compete in a couple of FIS skiing events to gain points to compete in the FIS Alpine World Cup.
Vonn participated in two Super G races, placing 24th in the first and 19th in the second ce. She expressed that her major focus while competing was to get back into the groove of competing and test her equipment. After qualifying to race in the skiing World Cup, she took to X to express her excitement and reflect on her first appearance while coming out of retirement.
"Well… after a solid weekend of races, I am now qualified to race World Cup! 💪🏻 now let’s see when I’m ready … ⏰," she wrote.

Lindsey Vonn took to X to reflect on returning to the slopes nearly after six years. The American Alpine skier expressed that she had a great time reuniting with her team and competing at the Copper Mountain in Colorado.
Furthermore, she revealed that she considered the race to be a training session for her as she is still trying to get back into competition mode.
"Today was a solid start and I had a blast being in start with my teammates again! While I’m sure people will speculate and say I’m not in top form because of the results, I disagree. This was training for me. I’m still testing equipment and getting back in the groove," she wrote.
"This is only the beginning and the way I’m skiing is more important than the times at this point. Now I have the fis points to race World Cup ✅ so that’s a successful day! Thanks to everyone who helped put on the races! Let’s do it again tomorrow! 🙌🏻💪🏻❤️," she added.
Furthermore, Lindsey Vonn thanked her fans and family for their support as she returned to compete in the Alpine skiing circuit.
