Lindsey Vonn recently opened up about her surgeon's reaction to her decision to make a skiing comeback after undergoing knee surgery in April 2024.

In an interview with BBC before her super-G at the Cortina d'Ampezzo, Vonn shared that her surgeon left the decision to her and also said that the titanium knee wouldn't cause any issues. Vonn additionally remarked that even though there are several other injury factors in her knee, the titanium parts won't be damaged. The skiing legend said:

"He told me it was up to me. He said if it doesn't hurt and it feels good, the titanium knee is not going anywhere. There's other risk factors, obviously. I have other ligaments, it's like a normal knee. Things can go wrong, but the titanium knee component is indestructible."

Lindsey Vonn had earlier mentioned that after her knee replacement, she has become much fitter owing to which she made her comeback to the slopes after six years last month. Since then, the Minnesota native has participated in four FIS and five World Cup races.
