Lindsey Vonn is widely considered one of the greatest skiers of all time, and the American has continued to stay in the spotlight after her retirement. Most recently, she shared with fans a positive update about her knee surgery, leaving them delighted.

Vonn was incredibly successful on the slopes, claiming 82 World Cup wins, four overall World Cup titles, and 16 discipline titles. However, the 39-year-old regularly suffered from her knee during her career, following a crash at the 2013 World Championships in Austria.

In April 2024, the former skier announced that she had gotten her knee replaced, and has since then shared regular updates about her recovery with fans. In the most recent update, Lindsey Vonn expressed her gratitude for her surgery and recovery, writing,

“Every day is a victory! Proud of how far I've come on this journey of life. I've had a lot of highs and a lot of lows but nothing has ever broken my spirit. I thank my Mother for that.”
“With this new knee that is now a part of me... I feel like a whole new chapter of my life is unfolding before my eyes. My adventurous spirit feels full of gratitude. To do the things you love to do is truly a blessing and I don't take it for granted. I don't know exactly what lies ahead but I know I'm healthy, happy and grateful.”

As one of the most successful skiers of all time, Lindsey Vonn has often used her platform to facilitate discussions about mental health. The American has been open about her struggles with depression, and on World Mental Health Day, she took some time to share an important message with fans.

Taking to Instagram, Vonn encouraged her followers to look for inner peace, writing,

“What makes me happy?... skiing! Thankful to be back on the mountain again where I feel the most inner peace and joy. I am not defined by skiing, I am simply a woman that loves to ski. I know the difference now. I don't need skiing to make me happy but my love for it will never go away. I hope today and every day you find your inner peace (even if only for a few minutes), and I hope it gives you strength.”

Lindsey Vonn retired from skiing in 2019 due to injuries. However, the American has continued to stay in the spotlight, embarking on various adventures and using her platform to raise awareness about issues she cares about.
