Lindsey Vonn shares a strong message as she prepares for a highly anticipated comeback to the slopes after five years

Lindsey Vonn recently shared a short yet strong note amid her highly anticipated comeback to professional skiing after staying dormant for five years. Vonn last competed on the slopes in 2019.

Vonn stunned the skiing world after announcing her comeback to the US Skiing team and made her return to the sport on November 14, 2024, during the ongoing 2024-25 Alpine Skiing World Cup season. The 40-year-old retired from the sport, citing multiple injuries and surgeries, and went through a knee surgery most recently. She decided to get back on the slopes after recovering completely.

Amid the hope of her return, the skier ignited the anticipation of her comeback by sharing a strong message on X. Vonn shared a picture of herself skiing on the slopes and captioned:

"On my way."

Lindsey Vonn has won three Olympic medals in her career, one gold from the 2010 Vancouver Games, and two more golds, which she won in the aforementioned iteration and the 2018 Pyeongchang Games. Along with this, she also delivered staunch performances during the World Championships where she has won eight medals in her career- two gold, three silver, and three bronze.

Lindsey Vonn recently penned a heartfelt note on Instagram during Thanksgiving, extending her gratitude toward her family and friends. Along with this, she showcased gratitude for being pain-free from her knee injury and also spoke about her dog fighting cancer.

Along with this note, she shared a bunch of pictures on the platform, which showcased multiple pictures of her with her friends and family, dogs, her Thanksgiving turkey, and some glimpses of her on the slope.

In the last slide of this post, she also added a message she received from her mother in 2021. The post's caption read:

"So much to be thankful for this year! I’m thankful for my family, friends and team for supporting me and believing in me.I’m thankful for my health, to not be in pain every day and to be able to ski fast again. (Thank you Dr. Roche and Dr Hackett!) I’m thankful for my dogs, especially my boy Leo who is crushing cancer right now. (Don’t tell the other 2 but Leo my favorite!)" wrote Lindsey Vonn.

She added:

"But mostly, I’m thankful for the opportunity. Every day is a chance to live my life to the fullest. All of the early mornings and late nights, all of the hard work and all of the fun; I don’t take anything for granted. I have promised myself and my Mom 😇 to never waste a second.I have NO regrets, and I am grateful for that!"

Vonn further added a thoughtful message that urged her fans to "enjoy every day" and highlighted the importance of the present.
