Mondo Duplantis’ fiance Desiré Inglander penned a heartfelt message to her younger self following a memorable year. 2024 saw Inglander not only get engaged to her longtime partner and double Olympic gold medalist Duplantis but also achieve personal growth, including embracing self-love.
In the message, she reflected on her journey over the past year and acknowledged that her younger self would have never imagined achieving so much. Additionally, the 23-year-old also expressed gratitude for all the opportunities she had received.
Inglander shared the message via her Instagram story with a backdrop of an old picture of herself from her childhood, writing:
“What a year. I'm looking back at this year thinking about little Desiré who didn't dare to dream this big. I'm not cool enough for a lot of things I've experienced but I'm very grateful for everything.”
Mondo Duplantis’ fiance also opened up about how the previous year was filled with insecurities, but before stepping into 2024, she made the decision to embrace self-love, adding:
“Last year was a very insecure year for me. I remember I told myself stepping into 2024 that this is the year I want to start to love myself. To keep this short, I looked at this picture and thought. Little Desiré would be proud. Work is not the defining moment but how I feel about myself.”
She also mentioned how little Desiré would be so proud of her present self and encouraged her followers to embrace self-love.
“To keep this short, I looked at this picture and thought. Little Desiré would be proud. Work is not the defining moment but how I feel about myself. I hope that you guys can look at a picture of younger you and be proud of something you have done this year, no matter what it was I know you should be proud 🤍 Thank you for supporting and being here on my journey!" she mentioned.
