IShowSpeed recently took a dig at Noah Lyles following the American sprinter's claim that he was only running at 20% speed during their race. The Youtuber and the Paris Olympic gold medalist locked horns in a 50m-dash faceoff.
Mr.Beast, an American YouTuber arranged the high-stakes clash between Lyles and Speed, offering $100k to the winner. After initially rejecting the offer, Speed reconsidered his decision after being persuaded by Lyles and Mr.Beast.
The young Youtuber stunned the athletics circuit courtesy of his exceptional skills. He lost to the Olympic gold medalist by a razor-thin margin. Reflecting on the viral race during an interview with GO Sports, Lyles claimed that he was only running at 20% of his speed.
In one of his live streams after Lyles' claim, Speed reflected on the race and took a jab at the sprinter. He played the video of the race at 0.25x speed and called his fans to pay attention to Lyles' body language and stated that the professional sprinter was running with much greater effort.
"Look at his face," Speed said. "Look at Noah's face."
"This is serious. I'm about to put it in slow motion bro. Are you telling me he was going 20%? When you run 20% you don't look like this (imitating Lyles)."
He added:
"Noah Lyles said he was going 20%. Watch him, look. Look at his face. Look at his face. Bro, why is he looking at me like that? Are you trying to fight? But he was not going 20%."
Tyreek Hill calls out on Noah Lyles after the American sprinter's hard-earned win against IShowSpeed
Noah Lyles secured his first Olympic gold medal at the Paris Olympics in the 100m event.
Following this victory, he stirred a controversy by stating that Super Bowl champions aren't world champions, which prompted a heated response from Tyreek Hill. The NFL wide receiver then challenged the sprinter for a clash similar to Speed vs Lyles.
However, after Lyles' hard-fought victory against the Youtuber, Hill threw a shade against the Olympian and the other athletes backing him over the Miami Dolphins wide receiver.
"And track athletes think he gone beat me 😂😂😂," Hill wrote.
Apart from his gold medal, Lyles also secured a bronze medal in the 200m event at the French capital.
