Noah Lyles and his now-fiance Junelle Bromfield recently got engaged after the American athlete grandly proposed to the latter in front of their friends and family. The Jamaican athlete shared an emotional response, embracing their relationship.
Lyles took their relationship to the next level by announcing their engagement on social media on October 12. He shared a joint Instagram post with Bromfield, where he uploaded the video of the entire proposal. The setup had a beautiful giant heart decorated with pink roses in the background with 'Will You Marry Me?' written beside it, as the video saw the couple entering the location holding each other's hands.
The American, dressed in a black tuxedo, sat down on one knee and proposed to Bromfield, who donned a silver-colored shimmery dress. The video concluded with the couple sharing an adorable kiss and the Jamaican flaunting her ring. A day after this announcement, Bromfield shared an emotional response by sharing a video of their old conversation and then added the video of them kissing after the proposal on Instagram.
The old conversation was about them not being able to even meet properly, and then the addition of the proposal clip showcased how far they have come as a couple. The post's caption read:
"We were long distance best-friends . Didn’t think we would ever get to really hang out until we were done with track but just look at US 🥺💍 "
Noah Lyles shared a heartfelt message for Junelle Bromfield amidst online controversy
Noah Lyles and Junelle Bromfield's relationship became a hot topic after the American athlete made a bold statement about knowing all the inside information of the Jamaican track camp, and credited his girlfriend for the same. This irked a controversy, which led to Bromfield receiving extreme hate online, especially from her Jamaican fans.
Amid this, Lyles showcased huge support for her and shared a video message, which was played when she appeared in Simone Clark's podcast, Sim Soul Sessions. In the video, he exuded belief in her and said that she was a "game changer."
"I'm just here to probably vocalize some of the ways that I feel that you've shown your resilience and shown your strength and it's hard at times I know, but you know, you're a game changer you might not want to be, that's what you are," Noah Lyles said.
He also praised her strength in handling the issues:
"Now everything that God has put in your life, has been one step forward to moving, to inspiring the next generation, and I know it's uncomfortable, but he prepared you for this moment, and I've seen the way that you fought through."
The couple met each other on social media in 2017 but started dating four years later after Noah Lyles thought of giving it another shot. They made their relationship official in December 2022 by sharing a post on Instagram.
