Aly Raisman recently expressed her pride in Jordan Chiles as the latter will be heading to her second Summer Games at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Chiles represented the United States at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics where her notable accomplishment included contributing to the nation's silver medal victory in the women's team event.
Chiles booked her place in her second consecutive Olympics after displaying a stellar performance at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Gymnastics Trials. At the trials, she punched her ticket to Paris by securing third place in the women's all-around event with an overall score of 111.425 points, only behind Simone Biles (117.225) and Suni Lee (111.675).
Following her Paris Olympics qualification, Chiles engaged in a conversation with Aly Raisman (via Olympics.com), stating:
"I've just been on a high, honestly, just been enjoying every moment. I am really excited. 24 hours is crazy that, you know, I wasn't a two-time now I am a two-time. It's weird how time works like that, but I'm just really proud of myself."
Raisman then spoke about how Chiles has brought joy to the sport, adding:
"I feel like when I watch you, I love watching how much joy you bring to the sport, and when I watch you, I can just see how much you love it and how you have so much fun."
Raisman asked Chiles about how she balanced both enjoying and engaging the crowd at the same time. She responded:
"For me, I love getting the crowd involved. I love being able to, you know, if we're entertaining them, why not entertain them back so they feel like, okay, I just didn't come here to watch a sport, but I got to come here to dance and get involved. And it helps me a lot and makes me feel at ease.”
A few days after the two had this conversation, Raisman took to her Instagram to mention how proud she was of Jordan Chiles ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics, stating:
“I’ve known Jordan for many years & love watching her bring so much joy to the sport ❤️ Proud of you & can’t wait to watch you in Paris!”
