Luca Hamori booked her place in the quarterfinals of the women's 66 kg event at the Paris Olympics after after beating Ireland's Grainne Walsh.
Don't think it's fair that this contestant can compete in the women's category" - Luca Hamori on Imane Khelif's participation in Paris Olympics
Luca Hamori previously spoke against Imane Khelif's participation in the women's category at Paris Olympics 2024. The Hungarian said that it was unfair to allow the Algerian to do so.
She also said that she would give her best to defeat Khelif.
"In my humble opinion, I don't think it's fair that this contestant can compete in the women's category. But I cannot concern myself with that now. I cannot change it, it's life. I can promise you one thing... I will do my best to win and I will fight as long as I can," Hamori wrote on social media (as quoted by BBC).
Whoever out of Hamori and Khelif comes out on top, will take on either Tokyo 2020 welterweight gold medalist Busenaz Surmeneli or Thailand's Janjaem Suwannapheng, who was the runner-up at the 2023 World Championships in New Delhi.
