The 2024 Marine Corps Marathon, popularly known as the People's Marathon, is all set to take center stage on October 27, Sunday, in Arlington. About 30,000 runners from 50 states will be participating in the 49th edition of the event.
In addition to the main marathon, the event will also host a 50K ultra-marathon, 10K, and wheelchair race on the same day. Meanwhile, the Kids Run and Armed Forces Championship's opening ceremony will take place on October 26, Saturday.
Notably, the Marine Corps Marathon is one of the largest marathons in the world. What sets it apart from others is that it is one of the few marathons that offers no prize money to its participants. It is also renowned as the perfect marathon for beginner-level runners.

- Dr. Jill Biden - Dr. Jill Biden raced the marathon in the year 1998 when she was the Second Lady of the United States and crossed the finish line in a time of 4:30:02. She is currently the First Lady of the USA since 2021.
- John Edwards - John Edwards, the United States Senator from North Carolina between 1999 and 2005, competed in the marathon in 1983, which he finished recording a 3:30:18.
- Al Gore - Al Gore is another prominent name who finished the marathon with a time of 4:54:25. He is known for being the vice-president from 1993 to 2001 under the former USA President Bill Clinton.
