American track athlete Masai Russell has shared her reaction to the U.S. Supreme Court banning several video editing apps across the country. Popular applications such as TikTok and Lemon 8 are inaccessible for the time being in the States due to security concerns.

Russell, besides being a professional athlete, is also quite active on her social media handles. She has 57.2K subscribers on her YouTube handle and more than 700K followers on her TikTok account. Owing to the ban, she recently faced an issue with creating her videos for her YouTube channel.

She took to her Instagram handle to share a story expressing her thoughts on the ban of video editing apps by the US. Russell said she had completed the editing of a YouTube video for her channel in the CapCut application when she realized that it was banned. She wrote:

"I just edited my whole YT video on CapCut and just realized that it's banned to omg."

Masai Russell opened up about the rituals she practices before stepping in for her races. In a conversation during the Pivot Podcast, Russell said she likes journaling and meditating before the races.

The 2024 Olympics gold medalist also said that she is looking to keep these rituals consistent and remarked that she likes to listen to Jes Brown's motivational speeches before her races. She said (5:57 onwards):

"Initially before I get to the track I'm journaling, I'm just kind of meditating like getting into calm state and just really being at ease. I never really got into that until this year cuz this was a very tough season for me... I just try to keep my routine as consistent as possible and the thing that helped me the most was just listening to motivational talks from Les Brown."
