Masai Russell recently picked two of her most unforgettable moments from 2024 as the year ends. Notably, this year was also the 24-year-old's first professional elite year in her track and field career.

Russell had some impressive achievements throughout the year which included a a bronze medal at the US Indoor Championships held in February. Additionally, she was also nominated as the USATF Breakthrough Athlete of the Year for her impressive performances throughout the year earlier this month.

However, Masai Russell's go-to pick for 2024 was arguably two of her biggest wins of the season at the US Olympic Track and Field trials and the Paris Olympics. Russell took to her Instagram stories to post a collage consisting of two pictures, one with the gold medal she won at the trials and the other from the quadrennial games.

Masai Russell recently shed light on her aspiration in the coming days of her track and field career. This came just a month ago during an interview with CITIUS Mag.

During the interview, Russell revealed that she is after the indoor world record which won't be possible if she doesn't come out of the Paris Olympics successes. She also mentioned that the hurdles aren't an easy event, and she has to get stronger and faster in the coming season. She said:

"I think I'm ahead of where I was at last year, just mentally and physically. I have some big goals coming. The women's 100m hurdles doesn’t make it easy on anybody. I know that I have to come in even stronger, even faster, even better. I'm looking to break the world record indoors this season and win the world indoor title. That’s not going to come with me still living in being an Olympic champion from August."

During the interview, Russell also stated that she is looking to train hard for the upcoming season and go with the momentum.
