Following the passing of the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, Riley Gaines expressed her views on its enactment. On Tuesday, January 14, the House passed the bill with 218 voting in favor, 206 voting against, and one voting present.

Two Democrat representatives from Texas - Henry Cuellar and Vicente Gonzalez - also joined the Republicans in support of the bill. The Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act would amend the Title IX policies that ban sex-based discrimination in any school or any other education program.

Gaines, who has been a staunch protestor of transgender athletes competing in women's sports, weighed in on the development while emphasizing that the nation is moving closer to ensuring that female athletes aren't unfairly disadvantaged. She also highlighted the two democrats who voted in favor of the bill.

"I heard that this bill is a waste of time and let me tell you the message I received when I heard that is that I'm a waste of time," Gaines said via Fox News. "Girls around the country just like me, are a waste of time, your daughters are a waste of time to all house democrats except the two who voted in favour of the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act."
"Men do not belong in women's sports and with the House passage of Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act we are one step closer as a nation to making sure that not one more male athlete is able to take a trophy, a roster spot, playing time, resources or opportunity to compete from a women," she added.

The bill was passed as an act after being initially passed in the House in 2023.

Riley Gaines lauded Republican member Ted Hill's act of introducing House Bill 10 on Tuesday, which restricts the transgender flags in state-funded public classrooms.

While the display of the U.S. flag, state flags, flags of many foreign countries, and some others is permitted, it curtails the display of flags representing a political viewpoint, political party, race, sexual orientation, gender, or political ideology.

Riley Gaines commended the bill by writing on X:

"A bill in Idaho (HB 10) has just been introduced to ban pride flags from public school classrooms."
"GOOD," she added.

A similar bill was passed earlier which failed to make it through the Legislature in the House Education Committee.
