Former American swimmer Michael Phelps recently reacted to his former coach Bob Bowman's recent revelation about him. Bowman has coached Phelps for the entirety of his career and has also been a father figure to the latter.

Several years after Phelps' retirement, Bowman opened up about the former's training regime in a recent interview with Kyle Sockwell. During the conversation, Bowman revealed that Phelps clocked times of 55.3 seconds, 53.6 seconds, and 51.6 seconds in 100m stroke practice sessions just before the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Michael Phelps' former coach Bob Bowman recently praised the most decorated Olympian's work ethic and called it the secret behind all the successes Phelps has tasted in his career.

Bowman revealed that Phelps had trained 365 days for six years before he stepped in for the quadrennial games in 2004. Phelps' coach also mentioned that Phelps has not taken day-offs even on Sundays and birthdays.

He said (via World Aquatics):

"He had an unbelievable work ethic. When I say unbelievable work ethic, I mean for six years leading up to the 2004 Olympic Games, he trained 365 days for six years. He did not miss a day of training, not on a Sunday, not on a holiday, not on his birthday, when he was sick he still came and trained and that is what made him the best ever."
