Mikaela Shiffrin wished her fiance and fellow alpine skier Aleksander Kilde with a series of heartfelt posts. The duo officially announced their relationship in 2021 and recently got engaged in April 2024, after their 2023/2024 Alpine Skiing World Cup campaigns.
Shiffrin 28 extended her World Cup win tally to 97, leaving the legendary Ingemar Stenmark in 86 and Lindsey Vonn in 82. After her recent success, she got engaged to her boyfriend, Aleksander Kilde, who was competing for Norway at the 2023/24 Alpine Skiing World Cup circuit.
Amid the World Cup, Kilde met with a harrowing downhill accident, which left him with a dislocated shoulder, and lacerated calf, among other injuries. He was on a long recovery and rehab journey with Shiffrin by his side. The latter even accompanied him on a Mexican trip and the Monaco Grand Prix (F1).
Cut to 21st September 2024, on Kilde's 32nd birthday, the Olympian showered him with heartfelt wishes. Her Instagram post featured the couple dancing to 'Karma' at Taylor Swift's Eras Tour concert in Denver. The Norwegian showed off his moves with 'Karma' printed on his t-shirt. Shiffrin penned a heartfelt note, reading:
"It’s “Karma’s” BURFFFDAY. I’m wishing so much that I could be with you today, you deserve all of the happy and wonderful things! You’ve had to take on a pretty tough string of events recently, but the way you handle it all is an example for all of us."
The two-time Olympic gold medalist also shared some stories, featuring the couple in different settings. The first two photos highlighted their bond in all-black attires, and the third story was of Kilde from the Mexican tour, where he tried to balance a cocktail glass on his bulged belly.
Mikaela Shiffrin and her fiance Aleksander Kilde recently played golf in Colorado
Mikaela Shiffrin and her fiance recently shifted from alpine skiing to focus on golf. They unfurled their golf prowess at Cordillera Valley Club in East County, Colorado. Shiffrin posted a picture series of them in golf attires, swinging their sticks on the course, posing for a selfie, and enjoying their golf cart rides.
Her mother, Eileen Shiffrin, also accompanied the couple to the picturesque course in Vail Valley.
"What a BEAUT of a day at @cordillera__co," she wrote in her post caption.
The women's events at the FIS 2024/25 alpine skiing World Cup season will start on October 26, 2024, with the Giant Slalom in Solden, Austria.
