McGrath clocked 1:45.94 to clinch the win, while Norway's Timon Haugan finished second and Henrik Kristoffersen clinched third place. It was an emotional moment for the Norwegian skiers as they secured the top three spots in the World Cup.

Atle Lie McGrath teared up as spoke to the media:

"It means a lot. I've worked really hard and it's been three years since my last win. It's just so cool to come down and for it to be a triple Norwegian win and doing it in Wengen... I was so close last year, I'm a bit overwhelmed."

Aleksander Kilde suffered a devastating crash at the World Cup in Wengen last year. The impact of the crash forced him to undergo surgery. The Norwegian Alpine skier completed his stipulated rest and began rehabilitation exercises intending to make a professional comeback.

About five to six months post the crash, Kilde tried to wear his ski boots and relive the feeling of skiing again. He spoke about his never-give-up attitude which accelerated his rehabilitation process and gave him the self-belief of making a full recovery.

"I put my ski boots and my skis on for the first time since the crash. That was done actually 5 or 6 months after the crash. Actually, it feels way better than expected. Have to see when I get out on the snow. But, actually, right now it feels quite normal," he said (via Audi's YouTube channel on January 16, 2025).

"Now I can get back to normal and slowly into being a professional athlete again. Awesome! I'm glad I didn't quit. At this moment, I realized that this is something I want to do again," he added.

Kilde finally returned to the slopes to ski for the first time in December 2024 after the doctor's permission and hopes to make a competitive comeback as soon as possible.
