Mikaela Shiffrin shares hilarious side of fiancé Alexander Kilde with a glimpse from their Mexican vacation

Mikaela Shiffrin and Alexander Kilde are making the most of their offtime before the 2024-2025 season begins. Most recently, Shiffrin gave fans an inside look into the funny side of Kilde as the couple enjoyed a scenic vacation in Mexico.

For the American and her Norwegian partner, 2024 has been a year full of ups and downs from the very beginning. In January, Kilde suffered a horrific crash while competing at the Lauberhorn races in Wengen, leaving him with a torn, dislocated shoulder, a lacerated calf, along with a few other minor injuries.

While Shiffrin rushed to his bedside for support, she was back out onto the slopes in a bit, only to herself suffer a crash later in the month. However, the snow was kinder to the World Champion, with her walking away from the accident without sustaining any major injuries.

The couple then went on to rehab together, often sharing video and photos of their recovery with fans. Mikaela Shiffrin did get back out onto the slopes in March, ending her season with an eight slalom crystal globe despite missing multiple races.

Now, Shiffrin and Kilde are enjoying the off season together, having recently gotten engaged. The American skier shared some funny snaps of their vacation on her social media, where she can be seen smiling into the camera while Kilde in the background balances a drink on his stomach.

This isn't the first time Mikaela Shiffrin has invited fans behind-the-scenes into what her everyday life with Alexander Kilde looks like. A handful of weeks ago, the skier let fans know that the couple are equally hilarious in their normal life, even while doing something as routine as making coffee.

In a video she shared on Instagram, fans can see Kilde brewing the American coffee while making funny faces and noises. When he spots the camera, the Norwegian even asks

“Why are you filming me?”

Shiffrin captioned the video,

“Been trying to convince him for over a month and he finally let me post this. His silliness makes me laugh so much.”

Breakfast shenanigans seem quite common in the Shiffrin-Kilde household, as the American had previously shared a funny video of her then-boyfriend running around in character to make them eggs. The skiing power couple got engaged in early April, much to the delight of fans.
