Monaco Diamond League 2024 Final Results: Jessica Hull breaks 2,000m world record, Grant Holloway continues his undefeated run

The 2024 Monaco Diamond League witnessed remarkable performances from the track and field athletes as they gear up for the ultimate show at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Multiple records, including the world, national, and continental records, were set at the Monaco Diamond League on Friday, July 12.

Jessica Hull was phenomenal once again as she ran a brilliant 5:19.70 in the women’s 2000m to set a new world record at the Monaco Diamond League. This came after her exploits at the Paris Diamond League where she set the Oceania record in the 1500m.

Meanwhile, the reigning world champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen set a new European record, clocking a 3:26.73 to win the 1500m. In the men's 800m, the Paris Diamond League winner Djamel Sedjati clocked a new national record time of 1:41.46s to secure the top position in a highly competitive race.

Grant Holloway again continued his winning streak by topping the 110m hurdles at the Monaco Diamond League with a 13.01s. In the star-studded 400m hurdles, Rai Benjamin (46.67s) achieved a stunning victory in a nail-biting contest, defeating world record holder Karsten Warholm (46.73s).

Other prominent athletes who secured wins at the Monaco Diamond League are Haruka Kitaguchi (javelin throw), Nina Kennedy (pole vault), Rhasidat Adeleke (400m), and Julien Alfred (100m) in the women’s events.

Hamish Kerr (high jump), Quincy Hall (400m), and Letsile Tebogo (200m) were some of the popular names who emerged as the winners in the men’s events.
