Mondo Duplantis shared a frame with fiancee Desire Inglander after winning the European track and field Athlete of the Year honor at the Atea Athletics Gala at Berns in Stockholm on January 21, 2025. Duplantis has been basking in glory since winning titles and breaking world records in the pole vault in 2024.
Mondo Duplanti, widely considered the most decorated pole vaulter in history, had a successful 2024 season, beginning with the World Indoor title in Glasgow. He broke his world record by cleaning 6.24m at the Xiamen Diamond League and next won the European Championships pole vault title.
Heading to the Paris Olympics as a heavy favorite, Duplantis cleared 6.25m to break another world record. His final and 10th record-breaking feat came at the Silesia Diamond League, where he jumped 6.26m. He ended his season with his fourth consecutive Diamond League trophy, followed by earning the European Athlete of the Year award.
His wall of fame welcomed another honor, European track and field Athlete of the Year at the Atea Athletics Gala at Berns in Stockholm. He shared an Instagram story featuring him and his fiancee Desire Inglander at the red-carpet event, posing in matching black outfits.
The ace pole vaulter came fresh off winning the Male Athlete of the Year, This Year’s Achievement, and Svenska Dagbladet’s Medal of Merit at the 2025 Swedish Sports Awards. As posted on Instagram, he donned a blue tailored suit, sharing the frame with Inglander, who turned up the glamour with a chic ensemble. The two-time Olympic gold medalist also posed with his trophies.

Duplantis participated in a 100m race against hurdler Karsten Warholm before the Diamond League meet in Zurich. Having already run track in his younger days, the 25-year-old outpaced Warholm in 10.37s.

Mondo Duplantis and Desire Inglander met at a midsummer party in 2020, and their romance sparked after their first date. After enjoying years together as boyfriend and girlfriend, the couple got engaged on October 11, 2024, in a picturesque beach setting.
After receiving three awards at Idrottsgalan, he shouted out to his soon-to-be wife in his speech, saying (via Vogue Scandinavia):
"I’m so grateful. There aren’t many more to thank, actually. I want to thank my fiancée Desiré; she’s been so damn important for the whole journey this year.”
Desire Inglander attended the Paris Olympics to support her fiance. She also extended her support to him over a video call after his tenth world record-breaking feat at a Diamond League stop.
