Mondo Duplantis’ girlfriend Desire Inglander was seen cheering for the pole vaulter and the American sprint star Sha'Carri Richardson, after their victories at the 2024 Zurich Diamond League. Duplantis and Richardson secured wins in the pole vault and 100m events, respectively, at the penultimate Diamond League meet of the 2024 season.
Duplantis, who is aiming for his fourth Diamond League title this season, cleared the 5.82m mark to win the Zurich meet ahead of two-time world champion Sam Kendricks, who also achieved a best effort of 5.82m. Although both athletes failed to clear the 6.02m bar, Duplantis achieved the win on count back. This was due to Kendricks failing once at the 5.42m mark, while Duplantis cleared all heights up to 6.02m.
On the other hand, Olympic silver medalist Sha'Carri Richardson got the better of reigning champion Julien Alfred of Saint Lucia to win in a nail-biting contest. She clocked a time of 10.84s to finish ahead of Alfred (10.88s) and Great Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith (10.89).
Following their victories, Duplantis and Richardson enjoyed the victory lap in a blue car while displaying their Diamond League trophies in Zurich. The Stockholm-based social media influencer and model posted a video of the celebration on her Instagram story, cheering on her boyfriend, Mondo Duplantis, and his close friend, Richardson, captioning it:

Notably, Duplantis and Richardson have been close friends since representing Louisiana State University (LSU). Moreover, a photo of both athletes from the fall of 2018 recently went viral. In the image, they were seen holding up certificates which also seemed like their first day at the institution.
Mondo Duplantis and Desire Inglander’s love story came to the limelight during the 2024 Paris Olympics
Mondo Duplantis’ girlfriend Desire Inglander frequently accompanies the pole vaulter during his competitions. During the 2024 Paris Olympics, Inglander was present at the Stade de France during the finals of the men’s vault to cheer on his partner.
Duplantis, like usual, delivered a record-breaking performance as he cleared the bar of 6.25m to establish a new world record at the quadrennial games. The Swede once again dominated the pole vault competition, with the USA’s Sam Kendricks and Emmanouil Karalis of Greece finishing second and third, making clearances of 5.95m and 5.90m.
However, what caught people’s attention was the gesture shown by Duplantis after smashing the world record. He immediately ran to the stands where Desire Inglander was sitting as both shared a kiss to celebrate the historic moment. Notably, this was the 24-year-old’s second successive gold medal victory at the Summer Olympics, having earned a gold in Tokyo.
