Mondo Duplantis considered himself the luckiest man in the world for being Desire Inglander's fiance. The pole vault world record holder got down on one knee during a Vogue Scandinavia photoshoot and proposed to his long-time girlfriend in a picturesque beach setting on October 11, 2024.
Duplantis made history at the 2024 Paris Games, breaking the pole vault world record for the ninth time by reaching a mark of 6.25m. He raised the bar to 6.26m at the Silesia Diamond League and smashed his world record for the tenth time. Desire Inglander, who Duplantis first met at a Midsummer party in 2020 and has been dating since witnessed the former's history-making moment in Paris.
The Swedish model also accompanied the Olympian at the star-studded Paris Fashion Week for the Bottega/Vaneta spring/summer 2025 show. On October 9, 2024, the couple graced The Hampton Beach resort for a Vogue Scandinavia photoshoot but Duplantis had an extra element planned with the team without Inglander's knowledge.
During the shoot, the pole vaulter got down on one knee and proposed to his former girlfriend, who has now become his fiance. Duplantis revealed that he was more nervous to execute the marriage proposal than to compete in the pole vault.

On October 14, 2024, the two-time Olympic gold medalist posted a photo carousel of their intimate engagement ceremony just as the shoot wrapped and called himself the luckiest man in the world as Inglander's fiance.
"I’m the luckiest man in the world"
The 24-year-old invited both the families and a couple of his fiance's friends from Louisiana and Stockholm without informing the latter. The pictures encompassed the couple in white attires, a candle dinner by the sea, and a campfire.
