Mondo Duplantis and Karsten Warholm are the best at what they do, and the duo recently got together at the Emporio Armani fashion show in Milan, Italy to celebrate their success at the Paris Olympics. At the Games, the pole vaulter walked away with a second-consecutive gold, while the Norwegian settled for silver in the 400m hurdles behind Rai Benjamin.

Duplantis and Warholm compete in two separate halves of athletics, as the Swede excels on the field, while the hurdler dominates the track. While both of them are world record holders in their own specialty event, they recently gave fans the treat of a lifetime when they faced off against each other in the 100m sprint.

Talks of Mondo Duplantis and Karsten Warholm clashing in the short sprint began sometime last July, and the speculation became reality at the Zurich Diamond League. With the global athletics community tuned in to watch, the two Olympic champions ran the 100m dash, with Duplantis emerging victorious.

Now, a few weeks out from that infamous clash, the Swede and the Norwegian are enjoying their time away from the sport and caught up at the Emporio Armani fashion show in Milan. Warholm posted a picture of them together alongside former Olympic and World champion Gianmarco Tamberi to his Instagram story, captioning it,

“Good times, great people.”

On the other hand, Warholm has excelled in 2024 as well, though not quite to the same extent as Duplantis. The Norwegian's year hit off to a strong start when he won silver in the 400m at the World Indoor Championships, and he followed this up with a gold in the 400m hurdles at the European Athletics Championships. At the Paris Olympics, Warholm settled for silver behind American rival Rai Benjamin.

Now, after their splendid performances this season, both Mondo Duplantis and Karsten Warholm have been nominated for the men's European Athlete of the Year award. Their fellow nominees include Mykolas Alekna, Jordan Diaz, Leonardo Fabbri, Matthew Hudson-Smith, Jakob Ingebrigtsen, Markus Rooth, Gianmarco Tamberi, and Miltiadis Tentoglou.
