Mondo Duplantis reacted to fans dressed as him and his fiance Desire Inglander in their Paris Olympic fits. The pole vaulter recently got down on one knee to ask Inglander for marriage in the picturesque 'The Hamptons' in New York, following his Paris Olympic and Diamond League exploits.

Mondo Duplantis became the most decorated pole vaulter in history after defending his pole vault title in Paris and breaking the world record with his effort. He reached the 6.26m mark to break his world record for the tenth time at the Silesia Diamond League and lifted his fourth consecutive Diamond League trophy in Zurich days later. After his success, the 24-year-old engaged in off-track activities, making chic appearances at the New York Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week, among others.

Duplantis then surprised his girlfriend with a dreamy proposal at The Hamptons resort in front of family and friends. He planned everything with the help of the Vogue Scandinavia team, making Inglander believe it was a mere photoshoot.

Ahead of Halloween on October 31, 2024, fans have started dressing like their favorite athletes in iconic outfits. Duplantis took to his Instagram story and hilariously reacted to a fan dressed as him with the pole vault at the Olympics. Another fan, dressed as Duplantis' fiance Desire Inglander, joined the former in the Olympic-inspired Halloween photo.

The Diamond League champion captioned his story with a fire and tearful laughing emoji.

Desire Inglander was on the sidelines when the double Olympic gold medalist soared to victory in front of a packed stadium in the French capital. On achieving a new world record, he immediately ran to Inglander to celebrate with hugs and kisses.

The Swedish model couldn't be present at Duplantis' tenth record-breaking event but extended support through video call.

The three-time European champion was the first pole vaulter since Bob Richards (1952 and 1956) to win two consecutive titles at the Games (2020 and 2024). Owing to his monumental success, the Swede received the European Athlete of the Year honor by European Athletics.

The honor came after he won the Athlete of the Year award by the European Athletics Association in 2022. In 2020, 2022, and 2023, World Athletics also honored Duplantis with the Athlete of the Year award. Having achieved 1339 points for his tenth world record in Silesia, the 24-year-old received a $10,000 'Champions Ring' of 14-carat gold.
