Mondo Duplantis recently reacted to an old photo shared by Thibaut Collet, which was taken 11 years ago. Duplantis and Collet were born in 1999, and the athletes were 14 years old when the picture was taken.
Both athletes later went on to compete at the 2024 Paris Olympics. While Duplantis dominated the event by registering a world record of 6.25m, Collet fell short of earning a place in the final after settling in 14th place in the heat round after recording a jump of 5.70m.
Having started his pole vault career as a four-year-old in Louisiana, Duplantis set world records as a young prodigy, marking his prospects as a promising player. She listed the world best for the first time as a seven-year-old, dominating the category with a jump of 3.86m.
Later, he went on to record the world bests at the ages of 10, 11, 12, and 13. Collet, who is coached by his father, shared an unseen picture from 11 years ago and drew a striking similarity of how they both looked now and as 14-year-olds—with no beards.
Sharing the picture, Collet drafted a hilarious message and wrote:
"11 years ago @mondo_duplantis nothing as changed, still no beard."
Resharing the picture on his Instagram story, Duplantis reacted with a laughing and fire emoji.

A few days after setting a world record at the 2024 Paris Games, Mondo Duplantis again amazed the athletics world by repeating the feat at the Silesia Diamond League.
At the Silesia Diamond League, Duplantis clinched the top place after having already recorded a jump of 6.00m. However, raising the anticipation of the spectators, he moved the bars to 6.26m, raising it by 0.01m.
