"Motherhood has tested me in all the ways"- Allyson Felix pens heartfelt note as she celebrates her son Trey turning six months old

Allyson Felix penned a on the occasion her son Trey turning six months old and said. On April 10, 2024, Felix and her husband Kenneth Ferguson welcomed the baby boy, almost six years after their daughter Camryn was born in November 2018.

Allyson Felix, 38, went through a complicated pregnancy with her daughter back in 2018, as the track and field icon was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia during the 32nd week of her pregnancy. The condition, marking an abrupt rise in blood pressure and other childbirth effects, compelled the Olympian to deliver her daughter in an emergency C-section. Since surviving a life-threatening experience, Felix has been advocating for maternal health care for black mothers.

Felix gave birth to Kenneth Ferguson III, lovingly called Trey, on April 10, 2024, through unmedicated VBAC, not reminiscent of the struggles of her first delivery. In an Instagram post, she talked about her rewarding experience and how her birth story was delightful and remedial.

"I was blessed to have the unmedicated VBAC that I wanted so badly. Instead of sharing the usual challenges and traumas around birthing, I get to share the most beautiful, powerful, ridiculously hard yet insanely rewarding experience," the 38-year-old said.

In her latest Instagram post, Felix celebrated her son's six-month milestone in an adorable photo carousel. She revealed how challenging motherhood has been, dealing with two children, managing meetings, and sleep deprivation, among others.

"Trey is 6 months already! How?! This season of motherhood has tested me in all the ways. Baby blues, mom guilt, sleep deprivation, life with two kids… the struggle is real. But I’m committed to being present – even if that means red-eye flights and late-night meetings," the seven-time Olympic gold medalist's caption read.

The pictures featured Trey in different settings, cuddling with her sister and aunt, sharing frames with his mother and father, and smiling with food smothered on his face.

In an Instagram post from three weeks ago, Allyson Felix posted a happy picture series, featuring herself, Trey, and Camryn. In the first slide, the Olympian posed with her son in her arms, followed by Trey smiling, Camryn at the tennis court, and a mother-and-son swimming session. The fifth and sixth slides caught the five-year-old in tennis action and the siblings sharing quality time at home.

The most decorated track athlete in the World Athletics Championships history concluded her career in 2022. However, her close association with sports landed her the membership of the International Olympic Committee, slated to last eight years till the 2032 Brisbane Olympics.
