Noah Lyles had a hilarious reaction as his namesake athlete, Noah Malone, won the silver medal at the Paris Paralympics 2024. Malone finished second in the men's 100m T12, clocking a time of 10.71 seconds on August 31. He missed the gold by a marginal 0.01s.

Malone had earlier won his heat in 10.75s. The 22-year-old has earlier competed at the 2020 Paralympic Games, where he won silver in the 100m T12 and gold in the 4x100m relay.

Lyles, who won the gold medal in the men's 100m at the Paris Olympics 2024, had a hilarious reaction to Malone’s silver medal, saying there was some connection between being named ‘Noah’ and being fast.

"Must be something in the Name Noah that makes you fast," he wrote.

Noah Lyles finished second both in the round and semifinals of the event and wasn't favored to beat Jamaica's Kishane Thompson in the 100m finals. However, Lyles showed his best when it mattered the most, running down the whole field in the 100m finals to take the gold medal by five thousandths of a second. Thompson was second in 9.79s, while Fred Kerley won the bronze medal.

Lyles caught COVID on the following day and settled for bronze in the 200m a few days later.

Noah Lyles entered the 2024 Paris Olympics with one aim: winning four gold medals. He got the first step right, winning gold in the 100m, a medal considered the toughest to win for him. However, after that, it went all haywire.

Lyles fell to COVID the following day but competed nonetheless in the preliminary rounds. Although he didn't look his best, the 27-year-old was still faster than all except two, Letsile Tebogo and Kenny Bednarek, who won the gold and silver medals, respectively.

As the quadruple dream ended, Lyles announced the end of his Paris Olympics campaign and decided not to run in the 4x100m relay, which was scheduled the following day. USA failed to medal in the 4x100m relay but took the gold in the 4x400m relay.

Moments after winning the 100m gold medal at the Paris Olympics 2024, Noah Lyles posted an inspirational message on social media, claiming that he had suffered from asthma, allergies, depression, and more but hadn't let them stop him from achieving his dreams.
