Dina Asher-Smith withdrew from the upcoming Silesia Diamond League after making a strong comeback in the 100m at the Lausanne Diamond League. The British athlete stated that she decided to opt out of the event to rest after a competition-packed month so that she could return to conclude the season in her best form.

Asher-Smith had a disappointing finish at the Paris Olympics, failing to qualify for the women's 100m finals after finishing fifth in the semi-finals, where she clocked 11.10 seconds. The British athlete was disappointed by her performance but got back in form two weeks later at the Lausanne Diamond League.

She won the women's 100m and clocked a season-best timing of 10.88s. The British athlete was scheduled to compete at the Silesia Diamond League a week later but she decided to withdraw from the event. Asher-Smith took to Instagram to share the news with her fans, who she also thanked for their congratulatory messages following her win in Lausanne.

"Thank you for all the love after Lausanne! Had so much fun and it felt great to run a SB in the 100, and take the win with the relay girls. I was due to race in Silesia but after a few busy weeks of racing my body wants a little rest before we finish the season strong in Zurich and Brussels. Hope that everyone is well, sending love," she wrote.

Dina Asher-Smith competed in three events at the Paris Olympics- 100m, 200m, and the 4x100m relay. The British athlete spoke about her performance in the 100m at the Olympics in an interview at the Lausanne Diamond League.

"I was very disappointed after the Olympics. Clearly, I'm in very good shape. Faster than I ran in the Olympics. I think it's been kind of pretty easy I just took some time for myself to really think and then just attack the season because I know I'm in great shape I'm injury-free, thank God, and track is fun, you know I wanted to come out here have fun. I'm just enjoying running," she said.

She missed the bronze medal in the women's 200m at the Paris Olympics by a very minute margin to USA's Brittany Brown. The 28-year-old athlete concluded her Paris Olympic campaign with one silver medal in the women's 4x100m relay, as Great Britain finished behind the United States.
