"My favorite girls" - Suni Lee missing Paris Olympics teammates Hezly Rivera and Jade Carey amid holiday season

Suni Lee is missing her teammates Hezly Rivera and Jade Carey as the gymnastics trio enjoy their respective off-seasons. Lee competed at the 2024 Paris Olympics, winning one gold and two bronze medals.

While Lee, Hezly and Carey train under different coaches, the trio have competed together since the 2024 American Classic. They made the Olympic team together at the U.S. Trials in June before winning the gold medal at the Paris Olympics.

The trio bonded well over the last season and were spotted together in several comical TikTok videos. However, since the gymnastics season ended months ago, Lee has missed Carey and Rivera.

The 21-year-old reposted a TikTok video of theirs on her Instagram story and expressing her yearning, she wrote:

While Lee and Carey have been teammates since the 2021 season, the all-around champion and Rivera bonded over morning walks at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Speaking with Glamour in an interview in October, the 21-year-old revealed she used to crack jokes with the 16-year-old to make her laugh.

"Every morning Hezly and I would go on a walk, we would get coffee, she would have her chocolate muffin, and then we’re making TikToks 24/7," Lee said. "She’s very quiet in the gym, so we would try and crack jokes. I’m like, ‘You can laugh a little in the gym. It doesn’t have to be serious all the time," Lee said

Lee also mentored the youngest member of the US Olympic team and helped her navigate through the pressure of the debut Olympics.

"She always reminded me to take a step back and just simply soak in the moment. It helped me appreciate every aspect of my first Olympics experience and recognize how special it was. She is not only a mentor to me but a friend," Rivera said

Suni Lee reunited with teammates Hezly Rivera and Jade Carey for the first time after the Paris Olympics during a shoot in New York last month. The Olympic medalists' trio shared a few joyful snaps from the trip and were ecstatic to meet each other.

While Carey is preparing for the NCAA gymnastics season with the Oregon State Beavers and has hinted at not competing in the elite in 2025, Lee and Rivera will prepare for the 2025 elite gymnastics season.
