LSU gymnast and social media star Olivia Dunne recently celebrated the end of her boyfriend Paul Skenes' rookie season in the MLB. Skenes is a pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates and has had a fantastic run this year.
Dunne and Skenes have been public about their romance, often sharing photos of their time with fans. The couple started dating when they were both students at Louisiana State University and the gymnast has been vocal in cheering for her boyfriend ever since he moved on to the professional arena.
Most recently, Paul Skenes played his final game as a rookie in the MLB, and his girlfriend celebrated the occasion by showing up to the stadium in custom boots that displayed his name in large letters. After the game, Olivia Dunne also shared previously unseen photos of her and her boyfriend at various games, with the caption,
“My little rookie.”
Skenes had a fantastic game on Saturday in the Yankee stadium, throwing four pitches in the 100mph range. After his year, the former LSU pitcher remains in strong contention for Rookie of the Year.
Olivia Dunne supports Paul Skenes in his MLB journey
Earlier this year, before the beginning of Paul Skenes' season in the MLB, Olivia Dunne told People magazine that she would have a tough time balancing her work schedule in her off-season as she tried to make it to as many of her boyfriend's games as possible, saying,
"During my season, a bunch of work obligations, I push them aside to the summer because I'm just so busy during the season and then it kind of starts to pile up during my summers. So right now I'm starting to get to the point where it's piling up a bit, but I'm going to balance it all and I'm going to make everything work between going and seeing Paul, working and relaxing.”
However, despite her busy schedule, Dunne has regularly extended her support to her boyfriend during his time in the MLB. The gymnast was there at her partner’s debut for the Pittsburgh Pirates, cheering as he helped his team to a victory. After the game, she shared pictures of herself with Skenes on Instagram, captioning them,
“Way to go Bucco.”
Olivia Dunne was also present at Paul Skenes’ All-Star game. With her boyfriend’s season having drawn to a close, the gymnast will now likely turn her focus to her training as she returns to LSU for a fifth and final season.
