Jordan Chiles' sister Jazmin has praised the gymnast for her sportsmanship after Jordan was stripped of her bronze medal at the Paris Olympics 2024. Jordan won the first individual Olympic medal of her career but was soon ordered to return it following the Court of Arbitration for Sport's ruling.

Jordan was upgraded from fifth to third after her team submitted an inquiry to FIG for misjudging one of her leaps in the floor routine. This led Romanian gymnast Ana Barbosu, the initial third finisher, to give away her position to the American. Displeased with the sight, the Romanian Gymnastics Federation requested CAS to overturn the decision since Team USA submitted the appeal after the 1-minute deadline.

The CAS ruled in Barbosu's favor and the International Olympic Committee asked Jordan Chiles to return her bronze medal. Heartbroken with the decision, the American took a break from social media after being bombarded with racist comments online.

Her sister Jazmin recently took to her X handle to extend support to her sister, writing:

"My sister’s sportsmanship is unparalleled. She is the epitome of it. So proud."

Jazmin had earlier called out racist comments and accused the judges of not doing their job.

"Racism is real, it exists, it is alive and well. They have officially, 5 days later, stripped her of one her medals. Not because she didn't win, not because she was drugged, not because she stepped out of bounds, not because she wasn’t good enough. But because the judges failed to give her difficulty and forced an inquiry to be made," Jazmin wrote in her Instagram stories (via People).

In a recent Instagram post, Jordan Chiles penned a note, expressing her disappointment over the decision of the CAS.

"I have no words. This decision feels unjust and comes as a significant blow, not just to me, but to everyone who has championed my journey. To add to the heartbreak, the unprompted racially driven attacks on social media are wrong and extremely hurtful," she wrote.

She further affirmed upholding the values of sportsmanship and competing with integrity.

"I will never waver from my values of competing with integrity, striving for excellence, upholding the values of sportsmanship and the rules that dictate fairness," she added.

To conclude, Jordan Chiles promised to deal with one of the most challenging moments like a champion and fight until justice is served.

"I will approach this challenge as I have others - and will make every effort to ensure that justice is done. I believe that at the end of this journey, the people in control will do the right thing," she wrote.

After giving up her individual bronze medal, Chiles now has the team silver from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and gold from the 2024 Paris Olympics.
